Launch of Educators’ Hub21: Advancing Supplementary Education in the UK 150 150 Elham

Launched on March 9, 2025, Educators’ Hub21 represents a major step forward in strengthening Arabic and Islamic supplementary education across the UK. Initiated by the International Forum for Islamic Dialogue (IFID), the Hub was introduced during a workshop that brought together educators, community leaders, and policymakers committed to improving teaching standards and preserving cultural heritage through high-quality education.

The Hub aims to serve as a collaborative space offering resources, training, and a support network for supplementary school educators. It builds on a four-month research study that highlighted key challenges: outdated curricula, lack of teacher training, limited resources, and gaps between supplementary and mainstream education.

Key recommendations from the workshop include:

  • Investing in structured, practical teacher training programs
  • Modernizing curricula to meet current educational standards
  • Strengthening partnerships between supplementary and mainstream schools
  • Fostering community and parental engagement

Call to Action: Support the Training of Trainers (ToT) Initiative

As part of its next phase, Educators’ Hub21 will host a Training of Trainers workshop in September 2025, aimed at preparing a cohort of skilled trainers who will lead year-round training for teachers in supplementary schools.

We invite donors, community supporters, and local business owners to invest in this initiative—your contributions will directly empower educators, enrich student outcomes, and strengthen cultural identity through quality education.

Together, we can build an educational ecosystem that nurtures the next generation while preserving the values and language that connect us.
